I heard the Eva Cassidy cover of Paul Anka’s “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” in an antique store in Chikaming, Michigan. Anka wrote the song specifically for Buddy Holly, who recorded it in 1958. It became a posthumous hit for him in 1959.
Tom Petty died on October 2, 2017.
